    Hi friends!

I’m Anna, Founder and Coach here at Ascent Training and Performance.

I enjoy any outdoor activity, food (and lots of it), and pushing myself to see what I am capable of. There’s a lot to know about me, and I hope I get the chance to learn who you are, but here’s the skinny.

My passion for health and fitness started as a young child. I played many sports growing up, including softball and competitive cheerleading, and spent most of my time outside in some capacity. I have always loved helping people. I was constantly volunteering my time to help wherever I was needed. After taking an anatomy course in high school and spending more hours in a gym setting than my own home, I decided to put my love of helping people and my interest in the human body to use.

That’s when I decided to study Exercise Science and Strength and Conditioning. I attended Bridgewater State University where I earned both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in the respective fields. I also met the love of my life, Coach Matt! After completing many internships, entry-level fitness positions, and busting our asses to live in Boston, we decided it was time for a change. Something that felt more like home.

We made the move to New Hampshire, where we now live with our pup, Gunner. Here at ATP, Matt & I both take pride in delivering a coaching experience that is truly tailored to YOU. We understand that every single human is unique and has individual needs. We also understand that training goes beyond the gym floor, so we are on a mission to guide you through your personal fitness journey.

Come see what you are capable of!

I love coffee, dogs, and being outdoors.

I originally got into training as a way to battle my own inner demons and haven’t looked back since. From then on, it has been my passion to help people build the strongest version of themselves both inside and outside of the gym.

I received my bachelors degree in Exercise Science from Bridgewater State University, where I also met my lovely fiance Anna Duncan. During my time there I was exposed to the collegiate level of strength and conditioning with an internship at Bryant University. Although grateful for that experience and all of the knowledge that came with it, I realized that this career path wasn’t for me.

Instead, I struck out into the private sector hoping to make a difference in the lives of everyday people. I began by sleeping on a friend's couch while commuting into Boston to work, before eventually moving into the highly competitive training environment of the city. If you throw a rock in Boston you will hit a great trainer, and I will always be grateful for the level of coach that it pushed me to be.

Once reaching the peaks of coaching in Boston, I realized that something was missing from my life. I grew up in the Berkshires working on a farm over the summers to pay for college. I missed the openness and the freedom of the outdoors, and we decided to move out of the city and north to Concord New Hampshire.

It is my passion to deliver the best possible coaching experience to my clients and to teach them the tools to build strength in all aspects of life.
